Session One: It’s All About Teamwork!
March 15th kicked off the 2018 Leadership Academy – and it was a great start to the Program!
All 12 REALTOR® participants assembled at Riddle in Mashpee. Here, introductions were made, rules were reviewed and a summary of the Leadership Program was presented by CEO Ryan Castle.
If you haven’t heard about escape rooms before, they offer a platform to help facilitate a team building atmosphere by using teamwork, communication and collaboration skills.
All in a fun, unique and motivating way.
Participants were divided into two groups; one group was whisked off to the, ‘Like totally, the 80’s’ room while the others were led to the, ‘Games of Pirates’ room.
Each group was given exactly one hour to find all the clues to solve the room.
The mission in each room generally requires someone to take the leadership role while others may take the part of a supervisor who delegates tasks to others.
Afterward, a quick debriefing was held at the Escape Room. They then proceeded to the Meet and Greet Reception at Siena Restaurant (located around the corner) to interact with colleagues, Leadership Academy alumni and CCIAOR leadership.
At this time, the Class shared how each team fared.
We learned who took the lead and who took more of a follower position. The Game of Pirates group definitely had a leader emerge and were very happy with themselves and their outcome. Morale was high for the 80’s group but they were not as consistent as the group in the Pirates room.
