“Ask not what your country can do for you – ask what you can do for your country.” – JFK
Kennedy spoke these words at his inaugural address on January 20, 1961. Adjust it to read, ‘Ask not what your community can do for you – ask what you can do for your community,’ and you have the theme of the discussion that took place at the JFK Hyannis Museum for the seventh and final session of the 2018 leadership academy program.
The full title of this session was called, #EngageCapeCod: How to Positively Help Your Community – How to engage in your community & your Association to affect positive change.
To start this session, Stefanie Coxe of Nexus Werx LLC once again brought her insight and experience as a political insider to the table and focused on Activism 101. Afterward, Cape Cod Young Professionals CEO Lauren Barker and Housing Assistance Corporation (HAC) CEO Alisa Galazzi shared what their roles are in the community, projects in the works & plans for the future and how this leadership group and others can get involved to make a difference in their own lives and in our region.
