Homeowners win through REALTOR® advocacy in state budget

In the budget the Massachusetts legislature will take up today, there were two major wins for homeowners advocated for by REALTORS®. Neither a tax on short-term rentals nor an increase in the deed stamp (real estate transfer tax) were included in the final budget proposal as both were in budgets passed by one of the houses of the legislature.

Debate on both issues will continue into the fall however, as both issues are also the subject of individual bills filed this session.  REALTORS® will continue to advocate for homeowners throughout the process.
