2019 CCIAOR and CCIMLS Board of Directors Elections

Petition and Election Information

*Candidate Petitions Due September 14th*

The Board of Directors sets the strategy, values and direction of the Association and MLS. If you want to shape and contribute to the future of CCIAOR and CCIMLS, this is your opportunity to get involved. We are looking for dynamic, strategic thinkers who are passionate about real estate and strive to serve the real estate industry, the Association and the Cape Cod, Nantucket and Martha’s Vineyard community.

The CCIAOR Board of Directors has set the date for annual meeting for Wednesday, November 14th, 2018. Per the bylaws of the CCIAOR and the CCIAOR MLS, this serves as official notification of the annual meeting and election announcement.

The following positions are available for elections to the 2019 CCIAOR Board of Directors, the 2019 CCIAOR MLS Board of Directors and the 2019 NAR Board of Directors. Please note candidates may run for the same position on the CCIAOR and CCIMLS Boards.

 CCIAOR BOARD POSITIONS

  • President-Elect
    *must have served on the CCIAOR or CCIMLS Board of Directors or the Finance Committee in the past three (3) years
  • Secretary/Treasurer
    *must have served on the CCIAOR or CCIMLS Board of Directors or the Finance Committee in the past three (3) years
  • Lower Cape Director
    *must be associated with an office in Harwich, Brewster, Chatham, Orleans, Eastham, Wellfleet, Truro, Provincetown
  • Nantucket Director
    *must be associated with an office in Nantucket County
  • At-Large Director

NAR BOARD POSITION

  • NAR Director
    * must be a current CCIAOR REALTOR® who is a Past Officer or Director of CCIAOR in good standing
CCIMLS BOARD POSITIONS

    *must have served on the CCIAOR/CCIMLS Board of Directors or the Finance Committee in the past three (3) years
  • Secretary/Treasurer

How do I become a candidate?
To run for a CCIAOR board position or NAR board position, you must submit a petition signed by at least 25 CCIAOR REALTORS®. Download a petition here.

To run for an MLS board position, you must submit a petition signed by at least 5 CCIMLS Participants. Download a petition here.

Note: if you would like to run for the same seat on the CCIAOR and CCIMLS Boards,
you will need to complete both petitions linked above. 

How do I submit a petition?
All petitions must be received no later than 5 p.m., Friday, September 14th, 2018, to the Membership Secretary, Marissa Cyr, by email to mcyr@cciaor.com or delivered to the Member Service Center (22 Mid Tech Drive, W. Yarmouth).

What are the eligibility requirements for CCIAOR and CCIMLS board members?

  • Currently be a CCIAOR REALTOR® in good standing
  • Be a CCIAOR REALTOR® member for the past three (3) years
  • Have no findings of Code of Ethics Violations in the past three (3) years
  • Within the past twenty-four (24) months: not served as CCIAOR Immediate Past President, not resigned from the Board of Directors and not served more than two (2) consecutive terms as a Director
  • Candidates for the Lower Cape and Nantucket County Director seats must be associated with an office location in their region. To confirm your eligibility for a director seat, contact mcyr@cciaor.com or 508-957-4344.
  • Candidates for Officer Positions (President-Elect and Secretary/Treasurer) must have served on the CCIAOR or CCIMLS Board of Directors or the Finance Committee in the past three (3) years

What are the eligibility requirements for NAR board members?

  • Candidates for NAR Director must be a current CCIAOR REALTOR® who is a Past Officer or Director of CCIAOR in good standing

What is the timeline for the elections?

  • Petitions must be submitted to the Membership Secretary by Friday September 14th at 5 p.m.
  • List of qualified candidates is sent to the Board of Directors and Election Committee by October 5th
  • List of qualified candidates is sent to CCIAOR members, setting forth the time, place, and other pertinent details of the meeting, and the election process, to elect Officers and Directors by October 9th
  • A Meet the Candidates event (or events) will be held between October 9th and November 5th for membership to attend
  • Electronic voting opens on November 5th
  • The Election of Officers and Directors will take place at Annual Meeting on November 14th
  • The Installation of Officers and Directors will be held on November 29th at the Ridge Club in Sandwich
